We love Rhinebeck, but it's changed a lot since Leighanne lived there as a child. The main transformation has been from sleepy rural enclave to hip tourist destination, and the face of the town definitely shows this! The good part is that there are a million amazing things to do. Please check the "Things to Do" section for suggestions. The downside is that one's pocketbook can definitely take a beating, as "NYC prices" have migrated north. This is especially true when it comes to lodging.

In light of this fact we've tried to give a good range of options here. If you don't want to rent a car, the "village hotels" are a 5-minute taxi ride from the Rhinecliff Amtrak station. If you're inclined to stay a little further afield and pay a bit less, the city of Kingston has two BRAND new hotels "just over the bridge."

If you can't find something within your budget (for all of our college friends ;-) please email us and we will try to help you out! There may be a possibility of CAMPING or staying with Family Friends.

PLEASE BOOK EARLY. Rhinebeck is such a tourist destination, these hotels all fill up by May. If you do want to carpool, etc, though, please check the "Directions" page. Yay!

Camping

Mills-Norrie State Park

this is a great alternative to hotels if you don't mind roughing it a bit. They have gorgeous super-rustic adirondack-style cabins right on the Hudson, available to rent from $72.50.

Wilcox Park

Another good option, but no cabins. Camping, lake swimming, boat rentals, children's play area, flush toilets, hot showers, picnic tables, shelters/pavilions. Cross-country skiing, winter sledding, fishing, forest land, hiking/nature trails, open/athletic fields, miniature golf.
